Who we are
This policy covers alignlending.com, run by Align Lending LLC (NMLS #2041154), an independent mortgage broker at 2625 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, Michigan 48328. What we collect, and where it goes
Each place on this site that collects information, what it collects, and who receives it.
Contact form and start screen
Your name, phone number, email address and message, or your answers on the start screen (your goal, state, price, savings and credit ranges). Emailed to Samantha and the Align Lending team inbox, and kept on our website's server.
Sent with every request
When you send the contact form, a text request, a check-back request or tool results, it includes the page you sent it from, the other pages you viewed on that visit, how you reached the site (for example a Google search or a link), how many visits you have made, when and where your first visit in the last 30 days began, and your device type, so Samantha has the context. Your browser keeps that list for up to 30 days, and it leaves your browser only inside a request you send.
Text requests
If you ask Samantha to text you from a computer: your first name, mobile number and question, the page you were on, and a record of your consent. Emailed to Samantha and the Align Lending team inbox, and kept on our website's server.
Check back
If you ask Samantha to check back from a calculator or review page: your first name, email address, when you want to hear from her (in 3 months, 6 months or a year), your note if you add one, the page you were on, and a record of your consent. Emailed to Samantha and the Align Lending team inbox when you send it, and kept on our website's server. At the time you picked you get one email, with Samantha blind-copied, and nothing more. That email has a one-click stop link, and you can cancel before then by calling or emailing us. The card never sends the tool's numbers.

Loan application
What a mortgage application asks for, including income, assets, debts and your Social Security number. Entered in a secure portal run by our loan software provider, not on this website.
Calculators and tools
Nothing, unless you press Send to Samantha under a result or fill in the check-back card described above. With Send to Samantha, your answers, the result, the page and how to reach you are emailed to Samantha and the Align Lending team inbox, and kept on our website's server. Otherwise the numbers stay in your browser, and we record only that a tool was used. The Loan Estimate check works the same way: your Loan Estimate is read in your browser and never uploaded, and Send passes the numbers from its boxes, the lender's name and the feedback shown, never the PDF. The Michigan property tax calculator's address lookup is the one exception: the address you type passes through our server to the U.S. Census Bureau's public address lookup, which returns its city or township, school district and village. We do not store or log the address.
Browsing the site
Pages viewed, the page that sent you here, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and cookie identifiers. Collected by Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Ahrefs Web Analytics.
Maps and reviews
Our office map and Google reviews load from Google, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.
Hosting and security
Server logs with your IP address, browser and the time of each request, kept by our hosting provider to run and protect the site. A request you send through the site is also saved with the IP address it came from, which we use to stop repeated or automated sending.
How we use it
- To answer your question and follow up on the conversation you started.
- To arrange your mortgage if you apply: review your situation, compare loan options with wholesale lenders, and submit your file to the lender you choose.
- To meet our legal and licensing duties, including record keeping, fraud prevention and responding to regulators.
- To understand how the site is used and make it better.
- To keep the site and our systems secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run this site and our communications: website hosting, email and text messaging, scheduling, loan software and analytics, and the U.S. Census Bureau's public address lookup for the property tax calculator. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
- Lenders and loan service providers, when you apply: the wholesale lender that receives your loan, and the companies a mortgage requires, such as credit reporting agencies, appraisers, title companies and closing agents, only to process the loan you asked for.
- Regulators and the law: the state and federal agencies that license and examine us, and anyone the law requires us to answer, such as a court order.
- A change of ownership: if Align Lending were sold or merged, your information would pass to the new owner under this policy.
All of the categories above exclude text messaging opt-in data and consent, which are never shared with any third party.
Text messages
If you give us a mobile number and agree to hear from us by text, we may send messages about your inquiry or your loan. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time, or HELP for help. You can also call or email us to stop texts.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar tools from Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages and tools are used. We do not run advertising pixels on this site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site still works if you do. Because we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control do not change how this site treats you.
When you apply for a mortgage
Your loan application is nonpublic personal information under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. You receive our privacy notice under that law with your application documents, and you can ask us for a copy at any time. It explains what we share and your right to limit some sharing.
The lender, credit bureaus and other companies involved in your loan give you their own privacy notices for the information they receive.
How we protect it
We keep administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to a licensed mortgage company, as federal rules require of mortgage brokers. Applications and documents go through a secure, encrypted portal rather than email.
No system is perfectly secure. Please do not send your Social Security number, account numbers or documents through the contact form or a text request.
How long we keep it
We keep loan records for as long as federal and state record keeping rules require, which is several years after an application or a closing. Contact form messages, text requests, check-back requests and tool results you send are kept while they are useful for your inquiry and our records. A check-back request sends its one email at the time you picked and then stops, and we cancel it sooner if you ask. Analytics data is kept under each analytics provider's retention settings.
Your choices and rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
- Stop texts by replying STOP, and stop emails by asking us or using the stop or unsubscribe link in the email.
Email samantha@alignlending.com or call 248-506-5727. We confirm who you are before acting on a request, and we answer within a reasonable time and within any period the law sets. Information in a loan file is covered by federal financial privacy and record keeping rules, which can limit what may be deleted.
Some states give their residents additional privacy rights. Where a state law applies to us, we honor the rights it gives you.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
We link to government agencies, regulators and neutral sources of data. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy, and its effective date, whenever the site or our practices change. This version is effective October 18, 2026.
